Current Exhibits
Intersections, Voices in Feminist Art
Gough Gallery - On display July 5 - August 30, 2025.

GDAC presents a brand-new group show inspired by modern and contemporary feminist theory concerning solidarity, community and connection. As our first entirely installation based show, the work on display was designed and built by individual artists or groups working in collaboration.

Installation art breaks the plane of fixed walls and creates its own space, shaped by the artist's imagination and intention. Much like the freedom dreamers in our society, women have been at the heart of caring for their communities through social and political upheaval and injustice and who have fought for more space and more representation. This exhibition explores the ways contemporary women artists and theorists use art and space-making to express and challenge their lived experiences in today's society and ever-changing world.

Golden Triangle Woodturners: Nature's Spin on Functionality

Generations in Conversation
Festival Hall - On display July 19 - September 20, 2025

Generations in Conversation features artwork created by artists 30 years of age and younger alongside artwork created by artists 60 years of age and older.
The exhibition centers around influences and conversations, emphasizing the visual and conceptual nuances that are both shared and differing between generations. It is not meant to be a competition, but rather to foster a dialogue that draws together two age groups often seen in opposition to one another.
The exhibition explores changes in technique, media usage, social, environmental, and technological influences, and how artists representative of two different time periods are inspired in their work.

Paint En Plein Air

"En plein air" is a French expression that means “in the open air.” It is used by artists to describe the art of outdoor painting, capturing landscapes and views in natural light. Denton is full of scenery that can inspire your next painting. Grab your easel and supplies and head to one of our many lakes, parks, or even the downtown square to flex your creative muscles.
